Snow Bunting (Plectrophenax nivalis)

Woohoo! a first for me. I've wanted photos of these beautiful birds for a long time and finally managed it last week. We've been having very high tides lately and there has been a large flock of 500 to 700 Snow Buntings foraging in the parking lot of one of our State Parks along with Dunlin, Black-bellied Plovers and Horned Larks. I'm about an hour from the coast and it was worth the drive over on a couple days to get some pics.

Cracker, Deanne I love this and so wish I could find them nearby, a wonderful capture, best wishes Dave

Excellent image. Especially intrigued with the surface tension of the water around the left foot. The water molecules are maintaining the coherent surface of the water around the toe. :t: :t: :t: :t:

Simply the best Snow Bunting I have ever seen, the lighting, setting, detail and subject are all perfect! :t::t::t:
