Snowy Egret
Taken at the Martin Luther King Jr. Regional Shoreline at about 30m.

Yeah, I know, I photograph these alot. I enjoy the challenge of getting good photos of white birds: it really lets me fine-tune how much I can squeeze out of my camera. And this particular park seems to have a small number of regulars, giving me lots of chances to practice.

Was fairly overcast and the lighting was at once flat and yet contrasty...was surprised I managed this one. I guess all the fiddling with the SX60 is showing some progress?

He stands out well against that background.

Yes there is a lot of detail to be seen on the bird, not just a figure of white. Nice setting and a lovely shot, well done!

Yes, a white bird with a dark bill is particularly challenging, but you have done an exquisite job here! I love the Snowy Egret, so graceful and flowing! Tfs, Calvin!
