Snowy Egret
Taken at the Martin Luther King Jr. Regional Shoreline at about 5m.

This egret was reasonably tolerant of us getting close so we must have spent 10-15 minutes photographing him. Meant I could spend some time trying portrait shots, different camera settings, etc.

Isn't it great when they co-operate like that Calvin.

You've got a super result with this image - very well done lad.

What a lovely close up this is. The lighting and detail are fabulous.

John: Yeah, given the lousy lighting conditions that day and the bad things seemingly everyone says about the Canon SX60 camera (especially in subpar light), I'm quite thrilled about this photo. Compliments from the DSLR crowd are always encouraging and appreciated, thanks!

Fantastic close up with nice feather detail and a glorious clear eyeball. From a DSLR er. Well captured.
