Snowy Owl with a Backpack (bubo scandiacus)

This male Snowy Owl has a GPS backpack visible. I got in contact with the person who put the pack on him. This owl spends its summers on Banks Island, Nunavut and winters in Alberta. This owl has had the pack on for 4 years now and they are hoping to remove it before he goes North again this spring.

Great aerial of this backpacking Snowy! It seems as if they managed to get a lot of good data but I am hopeful they are successful in recapturing it and getting its burden removed. TFS sillyak!
