Soaring Griffon (Gyps fulvus)

Here you have something I wanted to share and have in my gallery, as I think it is the top I can achieve in flight shots. Ive waited two years to post a Vulture in flight in the hopes to get it right sometime, but for the moment I give up. I know it could be better but In fact, if sometime I get something better it will not be a flight shot, but a miracle!!! :-O
Habitat
Cloudless sky (|=)|)
Location
Hoces del Ro Duratn, Segovia Province, C Spain
Date taken
22 June 2008
Scientific name
Gyps fulvus
Equipment used
Leica V-LUX 1 (handheld, ISO100, f/6.3, 1/400s, 0.0 ev)
Marian this is really a fabulous shot of this magnificent bird. A tremendous piece of work.

where have the cloudless skys gone now Marian, its freezing, wet and windy here in Madird, great picture.... :)

Looks old and wise. Like it has all the Spanish history written in his wings. I think Mr Segovia too was almost 100 years old when giving his last arpeggios. Brilliant work, Marian. Much more scary than tits here.. ;) :t:

Its a great shot Marian, you have caught it just right, showing off those enormous wings and showing the ease of how these birds soar!!!
I was lucky enough to see one on Majorca a few years ago, along with Egyptian and also Black Vulture. Great birds and great shot!!!

I was hoping to go down to Spain this summer to see these 'monsters' up close and personal......but could not find the time!

I was going to go next summer.......but now I dont need to!......when I have my own little 'Vulture Reporter' at the tips of my fingers.......Lovely, Marian. Well taken.

:bounce: Thank you again, pleased to see you still look at this picture so special for me!!! o:)

Ian, nothing like seeing these beauties soring over your head in the flesh... don't stop trying to come, you won't regret it! :t:

Cheers!
