Song Sparrow (Melospiza melodia)

Shutter speed is entirely too slow. It is evident in the fact that the image is not sharp.

Location

Date taken
June 2007
Scientific name
Melospiza melodia
Equipment used
Canon 30 D: EF 500 IS L @ 4.0: 1/125 @ f 5.0, : ISO 250 : white bal 5250 : RAW, processed in Adobe Lightroom, CS2, : monopod
But the composition is beautiful, and the face of your Sparrows looks very sharp to me... I see it like a "tricky" close-up: got concentrating the focus in the frontal area and blurring around! |=)| I'd be very happy if this was mine, Mark!!! :t:

The head and bill are sharp, digi. May be just too big an aperture because of low light, causing a shallower DOF. It still turned out a very pleasing piece of work!

DOF is shallow yes Mark!! but for me its sharp in the most important places, we will never get perfect light conditions all the time my friend or the challenge would be gone, its a Thrush and we love it (we)being Brenda and I :t::t::t:
