Nice shot i saw one of these Queensland.They say if you meet one slowly walk backwards away from them.If they turn nasty they can jump up and disembowel you with their huge claws.

Gosh you were very lucky to get such a good photograph. I tried but the Cassowary was partly hidden in the bush!!!

Good advice back away, problem we had with another was in the dark rainforest when we photographed it and its chick the chick ran right up to us fascinated by the flash. Cassowary chick around your feet mum 10" away its a scary feeling.
