Southern Hawker (aeshna cyanea)

Went for a walk today and came across this dragonfly in some woods - had to swap my lens not to get near him but managed a couple of shots aftwards. I don't know these very well but I am informed it is a Common Hawker - I initially thought it was a southern hawker.
6th Aug - I have now changed the picture to read Southern Hawker after debate on here and World Photography forwum - thanks all for you help with this id.
Habitat
Woodland
Location
Allt Yr Esgair
Date taken
3rd August 2008
Scientific name
aeshna cyanea
Equipment used
Canon Xti and 55-250 lens
Think I'm gonna go with Adey on this Alan; having seen another of your shots of this creature, the last 2 segments of the tail have bands not dots and the Common has dots.

Thanks all for the lovely comments - it was just one of them right place right time things I suppose.....of which I was very glad.
