There's some lovely iridescence on his shoulder, and you've great eye contact too.

Was this not another Lifer Ann?

I hadn't posted any to my BF gallery before the Argentina trip, but it's actually not a lifer. I'd seen them on a trip to Chile about 12 years ago, before I even started birding. Got a lovely shot of a chick back then. Also a black-headed swan. I should post those later.
 
Time well spent Doc! Very handsome lapwings showing fabulous colours. Three superb captures.
