Sparrowhawks (Accipiter nisus)

  • Gleb Berloff
It was a complete surprise today, when an edible fungi hunt turns into a lengthy sparrowhawk observation. I came across the pair and the young completely by accident, attracted by one of the young calling the entire time, which I initially thought was a tawny owl. This is one of the young, sitting right next to its departing mother. This was not the vocal one, as well.
