Spectacled parrotlet (1/5) (forpus conspicillatus)

These are not pets.

They live in a small colony near a lagoon

When they open their wings (to fly), the blue underside is magnificent.

They are adorable, very very playful, and judging by how they seem to come and go and play in pairs, and how they behave with each other, I'd venture to say their mutual bond runs deep.

The blue spectacled one is the male, the female has light green spectacles, as you'll see in the upcoming pictures

So much nicer seeing them out in the wild rather than in a cage. Nicely captured.

Such beautiful parrotlets, aren't they and it sounds like they're great fun to watch too.
