Spike-heeled Lark (Chersomanes albofasciata)

Some time ago there was a discussion on this site whether an image posted was a Karoo Long-billed Lark or not, some viewers expressing the opinion that the bill was too short etc. On our recent trip to South Africa, we photographed and identified the bird shown as this species. Were we correct in identifying it as a Karoo Long-bille Lark? Please let us have your opinions, please. [Further info in comments below]

Great photo, though I'm fairly sure it's a Spike-heeled Lark. Few other larks can match that short tail.

Rasmus,

Thank goodness someone has come up with the correct ID.We had contacted Rockjumper Tours twice to verihy the identification of the photo,as we were unhappy with it being a Karoo long-billed Lark and they never commented on it.You are absolutely correct in identifying it as a Spike-heeled Lark and we thank you for putting our minds at ease!!!! The name is Spike-heeled Lark;please note the speeling of heeled !

Yes, I just noticed the typo in my earlier comment (but no more; edit). Regardless, I have taken the liberty of correcting the title & scientific name for the photo itself.
