Spiny-cheeked Honeyeater (Acanthagenys rufogularis)

This bird was just surveying the area before flying down to drink at a small dam (not much more than a muddy puddle), the only water for many miles around. It was just one of a dozen or more different species that had been coming in to drink since dawn.
