Spotted Doves (Streptopelia chinensis)

Thanks for all the kind words on the last photo
I have a question, we only saw this one Dove with a darker rose color then the others, why is the color different? The book says that the immature dove lack neck pattern and may be mistaken for the rarer Mourning dove. That rules out the darker one being immature. Have a great weekend
Location
Lahaina Maui
Date taken
2014
Scientific name
Streptopelia chinensis
I saw a pidgeon the other day that was a dark slate colour. It really stood out among the more commonly lighter colured ones. This might just be a natural variation as well. Nice double caoture.
