SPOTTED FLYCATCHER

I was daft enough to submit this pic into the Wild Bird Photographer of the Year competition last year and it bombed. I suppose it had everything going against it. We live and learn. The greenish tinge on the bird's belly is caused by leaves out of shot refracting green light light. I had a print done at 8x6 and the printer decided to let me have a further copy at A3 just to see the detail which I have to say was better than expected. No charge ...bless him! I submitted another flycatcher shot this year into the same comp'....one of the ones I took in Ireland...I dare say that will bomb too, but at least the images are different to the ones normally seen of this species.
