Spotted Sandpiper juv (Actitis macularius)

Found this one on my walk through the park. I got some closer shots but thought this one was cute.

Thanks to all of you for asking about the Valley wildfire in our county. The fire is now 80% contained and we were fortunate it didn't reach our neighborhood. The loss is huge.

Lovely image! One way to "read" it, though, might be that the bird is worried about low water levels :S

Outstanding sandpiper taken on a fabulous perch. One can imagine that its trying to figure out whose in the water looking back at him (lol). Gorgeous work!!!!
