Spotted Towhee (Pipilo maculatus falcifer)

Singing male in my local patch. Species limits among these towhees has been in flux. Recently a single species concept under the name Rufous-sided Towhee was replaced by a two-species taxonomy which prevailed during much of the early 20th century.
