spring song- california gnatcatcher
this little male knows its spring in san diego, probably already nesting in the sage scrub at lake murray. this species is on the endangered list because of loss of habitat to developement.

Great shot. They don't often offer us such good "clean" perches and backgrounds; I'm sure it represents many, many tries; this background color different, and very nice, complementing his wing colors.
