That ...
dash of pink ...
... on wings
enhances ... and
... enriches
shades of grey ... !

Very territorial at
this time ... vocal
and daring ...

It was three seasons
ago ... once

... we were driving
on a dirt track
along a wetland ... and
we noticed one of
these long-legged
beauties sitting on
the nest located
precariously on the
margin of the wheel
mark of the vehicle ...
... it got up
blocked our path ... would
not budge ... and
created a huge
racket ... forcing us
to withdraw ...
... from inside the
vehicle we could
spot a clutch of two
most beautiful spotted
eggs ...

Watch some of them
engaged in territorial
issues ... and very
loudly, as well ...
