Spring-Summer ... 6 (Tringa erythropus)

Spring-Summer Collection ... 6

Not so much as a
quality photograph ... but
a vastly satisfying
record shot
for us as a birder ...

and an even rarer
video-clip of
one in breeding plumage
... that I was able to
un-earth from my Archives ...
and posted yesterday ...

We wern't aware of
this record in our data
... we were, in reality
shooting a pair of
Ruddy Shelduck ... when one
of these walks into
the frame ... only when
we were analyzing all the
clips done on that day in
this area of
Lost Wetlands ... that we
stumbled upon it ...

We hardly ever get to see these waders showing breeding plumage in the UK. When I have the bird has always stayed distant...Two nice captures showing plumage differences Alok.

Wow! I've never seen them in breeding plumage. Very striking! I'm amazed they're not called "Sooty Redshanks" rather than Spotted.
