Squacco Heron
I was guiding a group of birdwatchers from the UK on Hortobgy fishponds, where we found this cooperating Heron. Cooperative, because every member of the group could have scope views and I still had time after to take photos. As I was a guide, I didn't have my sketching equipment with me, but this was such a beutiful scene, that I felt it a must to be painted. So I worked from my photos.

Very few artists can work from photographic reference and produce works which have such life! This painting shows just how much you, as an artist, absorbs and interprets the scene in life - absolutely stunning work!
