Standing Guard (Accipiter nisus)

Back in it's usual spot but in much better light today. One of the fledglings was stood nearby but I couldn't get it in the frame despite having the zoom lens with me today. The other three chicks were still in the nest tree albeit only one now left in the nest.

Yet another image that a) makes me smile at the quality and subject, and then b) makes me sigh at my lack of success with these awesome hunters.
