Starling Surprise

Thank you very much for the lovely comments on the swan photo yesterday.

Now, I know starlings are common birds, and nothing to get excited about, but I did get excited yesterday. We haven't had a starling in the garden for about 10 years, so I was very surprised to see this one land briefly on the feeder. Just enough time to grab a shot before he disappeared again, so apologies for the fact it's not a brilliant pic, but at least I had proof he had been in!

So your camera data tells you it was taken in your garden then Kits? LOL...Always nice to see absent friends.

A super shot of your lone starling, Kits !!! I have between 30 and 40 of these entertaining characters visiting my garden each day and eating me out of house and home.

It's amazing how patchy the distribution of birds can be. I'm with Carole, there are times (early morning) when our feeders are black with Starlings, I counted around 30 just earlier this week. You've got your proof, well done!

Pleased for you, Kits; I'm sure he'll tell his mates and return with them to eat you out of house and home ;)

Always a good idea to grab a quick shot before taking your time to focus and check settings on the next ones. You never know if there will be any "next ones", do you? I missed a lifer that way the other day. Should've gone for a shot the first instant I had him in the viewfinder :S
