Stately As A Galleon (Podiceps cristatus)

Taken at the big "O" reservoir at Tophill Low over the weekend, this Great Crested Grebe was being bobbled about like a cork by the choppy swell some 60 yds away, disappearing into the depths every now and again after giving some poor fish or frog the evil eye! Didn't see it surface with anything but grabbed the shot because I liked the shape of the bird and the texture and pattern of the water surface in the late afternoon sun.

Seems it's looking for some other poor fish or frog right now, what a beautiful shot! :t: :clap:
