Still arriving! (Bombycilla garrulus)

A real 'fall' of Waxwing yesterday on my local patch with at least 60 dropping in to feed on the hawthorn berries. Even as I left more were flying over the visitor centre as I called in to let the warden know. He was over the moon as he hasn't seen any in the Park in the last five years. This one even has a metal ring on it's leg - a first for me. Only a few digits are visible though.
Location
Cowpen Bewley Woodland Park, Billingham, Cleveland

11th December 2008

Please re-direct to West Fife where berries are waiting!! ;)

Great capture, Ian! The wife just texted me to say we've got Redpolls and Waxwings at home at the moment - but of course I'm not there. :-(
