A real 'fall' of Waxwing yesterday on my local patch with at least 60 dropping in to feed on the hawthorn berries. Even as I left more were flying over the visitor centre as I called in to let the warden know. He was over the moon as he hasn't seen any in the Park in the last five years. This one even has a metal ring on it's leg - a first for me. Only a few digits are visible though.
Thanks Ian great picture, but do you think you could get out there and chase them over the Pennines to me here on the Wirral before all my berries get eaten by the blackbirds.
