Stonechat, light as a feather
Stone chat perched on top of a plant at East Chevington, Druridge Bay, Northumberland, UK.

I like the dreaminess of this image and how light the stonechat was on top of its perch, not even bending the stalk.

Not sure whether it's a male or a female as I'm not good with winter plumages. Looks like a female and there was a male in characteristic colouration nearby.

It was a challenge to get such a small bird and I had to use 1020mm focal length to get even this close.

What a lovely and delicate image!! Shows very nicely how a small bird can make a great picture. Love it. :t:
