Strange looking Golden Plover (pluvialis fulva)

Today I visit a coastal site near Sydney to watch shorebirds during high tide. There are about 15 Pacific Golden Plovers but among them there is this less attractive Golden Plover which is different from the rest.

I invite you to look at ID Question & Answer for this bird at

The 2 plovers in the back ground are typical Pacific Golden Plovers.
