Strumpshaw Harnser (Ardea cinerea)

I spotted this Grey Heron (or 'Harnser' to use the old Norfolk name) through the reeds at Strumpshaw Fen. I carefully crept up on it but every time i lifted the camera to take a shot it spotted me and flew off further down the bank. This happened three times before I finally managed to take this single frame. It then flew away for good. Ron

Great shot, as you say not always easy to photograph [just spent a week Photographing Herons & Egrets in Botswana]
keep them comming

This old bird was more crafty than you Ron, but you got your shot in the end mate, nice one.

A difficult bird to approach in my experience ... good capture!
