Stumpy the Coal Tit
Doc Duck

Stumpy the Coal Tit (Periparus ater)

with his deformed leg and stubby tail. The foot doesn't actually seem to be deformed, as far as I can see. It's the leg, or perhaps a joint near the top of the leg, that has his foot pointing the wrong way. Perhaps the deformity is even in the lower spine, since his tail seems to be pointing towards the left as well.

He seems to be doing OK though Ann. It's amazing how animals can cope with things, isn't it.

That's a super picture of this wee charmer - thanks lassie.

Poor little fellow, it does look strange with the bottom of its foot point outward with abbreviated tail. It actually looks healthy enough except for the abnormalities. TFS Doc!
