Summer Tanager
Colored like a strawberry and lemon sherbet popsicle. This SY (second calendar year) male has completed a partial first pre-alternate molt. Most of the juvenile wings and tail have been retained from the previous year. In the fall it will undergo a complete pre-basic molt into an all red plumage.
