Surprise visit! (Bombycilla cedrorum)

Had a surprise visit from a flight of some dozen or so immature cedar waxwings last evening.
Another long zoom in and big crop. I had to take this from quite a distance as I didn't want to spook them. Some of these waxwings were young enough to still have stripes on their bellies. They took a taste of the mountain ash berries, (see one of the birds trying to gulp down a berry in the upper left) and like the robins, decided they're not quite right yet. After a brief stay and a few pluckings, they winged away.

What a lovely picture this makes Bill. You're so lucky to have waxwings near you.

A super picture - very well done lad.

Every new comer seems to want to try the fruits but they are come to the same conclusion, not quite ready for consumption (lol). Excellent picture and narrative Bill!!!!

A wonderful behavioural shot, Bill, and very nicely composed.
