'Surprise!'

'Surprise!' (Threskiornis molucca)

Hi all, had to share this one, I was just about to go out to feed the chicken and wondered why the rooster was crowing outside the kitchen window, (out of his pen) I looked out and saw this Ibis strolling towards the water bowls and feeders. It was quite inquisitive and checked each bowl and drank from one before wandering around to the side of the house. I have had Straw-necked Ibis here on several but never a White Ibis so a first for my kitchen window! Then I looked up and got a fly-by of S/Necks going down into my side paddock, they didn't stay and this one eventually took off when the Cockies took to the air screeching, as they do! The nearest to home I have seen these guys is about 20 kms away so my lucky day! Hope you like my new visitor!

And here I thought these guys were ubiquitous. They were certainly a daily sight in Sydney, and almost a daily sight on my North End trip. But then, it is a whole continent, after all, so plenty of space for variation |=)|

Oh nice one Nora!! Well done getting both the Ibis on the same day.

Congratulations on your newbie lass.

A marvellous picture this my friend - well done.

You know it took me ages to see the first S/n Ibis, into my 3rd week. Even though they'd been seen flying over, I was always too late looking up LOL
