The other day I shared a shot of a U-valley and some of the blunt mountain shapes formed by plateau and valley glaciers. I mentioned then that hanging (or Alpine) glaciers leave spikier mountain shapes, as for instance in the Lofoten islands. Here's a shot of Svolvr, main city in the Lofoten islands, with its iconic alpine mountain backdrop. This was taken earlier that night. The aurora appeared on the next stretch.
