Swamp birds with attitude (Tribonyx ventralis)

Another photo of a pair of Black-tailed Native-Hens,one of Australia's delightful freshwater swamp birds,a bird with great demeanour and attitude,often racing around in big flocks.

I saw two of these during a recent canoe trip, but they ran up the slope and into the bushes as though hungry dragons were paddling by, no chance even for a distant shot.
 
I like the attitude in these birds. Great expressions. Lovely combination of colors as well.
