Swinhoe's minivet or brown-rumped minivet (Pericrocotus cantonensis) is a species of bird in the cuckooshrike family, Campephagidae. It is found in Cambodia, China, Hong Kong, Laos, Myanmar, Thailand, and Vietnam. India[non breeding range]. Its natural habitats are temperate forests, subtropical or tropical moist lowland forests, and subtropical or tropical moist montane forest.
1819 cm. Male has black lores, charcoal-grey region from mid-crown and rear of eye across ear-coverts to hindcrown and nape; forecrown and rest of head side white.
Inadequately described; metallic trill, flight call similar to that of P. divaricatus OR ASHY MINIVET.
Details of diet not documented; probably similar to P. roseus OR ROSY MINIVET. Forages in canopy; often in cohesive parties in winter.
Not globally threatened. Formerly considered Near-threatened. Not well known; apparently locally common in S China. Uncommon in non-breeding range in SE Asia.
