These are great, Doug :t: ! Red-breasted Mergansers are very rare in this part of the world. Only seen them once so this is a real treat ! Must be great to watch !
 
Maybe I should have let the viewer draw their own conclusions about this. Thanks for looking. The Red-breasted Merganser isn't the rarest duck here but I wouldn't call it common either. This was the first time I got to watch this ritualistic behavior from a front row seat.
