Syrian Woodpecker

Syrian Woodpecker (Dendrocopos syriacus)

Finally at home. Finally found a moment to do some browsing. But now I'm done in. And I have to be up early tomorrow, so I'd better get to bed. First, though, three posts from the rainy day at the beginning of my trip. Not light conditions my camera handles well. Not weather conditions for it either. But Christian Mihai was finding so many great birds that I did take the camera out now and then. So here come a few of the nows and thens.
2) Another lifer. My first Syrian Woodpecker. We saw four of them - one on its own, then a family of three. All very busy foraging.
