Tarantula Hawk
Tarantula Hawk (Pepsis grossa: Pompilidae) 2.5-5.1 cm (1.0-2.0) long. On Desert Milkweed (Asclepias subulata: Asclepiadaceae). The orange dots are milkweed aphids.
Habitat
Sonoran Desert. Urban area with areas of desert habitat at ca. 728 m (2,388 ft) elevation.
