Texas Cooter

These are a decent-sized pond turtle endemic to Texas. Their shells are usually relatively bland, or so covered in algae you can't see their shell properly, but this one had a particularly spectacular shell.
Habitat
A shallow, weedy extension of a decent-sized pond, probably coming out of hibernation after that nasty freeze.
Location
Old Settlers Park, Central TX.

It sure is a great view of itโ€™s shell and a great top view of this Turtle Tired.

You did well to get these, my experience of turtles and terrapins, they get down under the water as soon as you come anywhere near them ๐Ÿ™‚ (Like the other two in the picture!)
