Texas Ironclad Beetle
Texas Ironclad Beetle (Zopherus nodulosus haldemani: Zopheridae) These large and conspicuous beetles get 1.9-3.8 cm (0.75-1.5 in) long. Photographed in Lick Creek Park, College Station, Brazos County, Texas, USA. On a decaying tree in the bottomlands dominated by cedar elm and water oak with some water hickory at ca. 96 m (315 ft) elevation.
