Texas Wasp Moth
Texas Wasp Moth (Horama panthalon texana: Erebidae) Wingspan of 3.2-3.4 cm (1.26-1.34 in). This moth evolved to mimic paper wasps.
Habitat
South Texas Plains vegetational area. Tamaulipan scrub at 99 m (325 ft) elevation.
Location
Falcon State Park, Falcon Heights, Starr County, Texas, USA.

Is it more of a wasp or more of a moth? It sure has a lot of color to it and so nicely captured Stanley.

Super clear capture. Interesting that it doesn't look anything like (at least to me) a moth.
