When I paddled home recently I noticed a dead fish in the reeds so I pushed it out where the current would take it downstream, hoping an eagle might spy it, then I backed myself into the shore to wait. Sure enough this eagle flew over me and grabbed the fish, looking right at me as he turned and flew to a tree. I believe that is the closest we have ever been to each other.
