the caracara's mate (caracara cheriway)

a companion shot to the caracara i posted thursday. this nesting pair was busy ripping up a gull carcass and flying it to the nestlings. i thought it strange that they were nesting in a palm tree in a large shopping center. the colors are warm due to the setting sun.
