the guardian (Pycnonotus xanthopygos)

the pair of bulbuls are the only ones who can control things when the weavers and sparrows go wild on the feeder.

these beauties will soon start to make there nest and have little one by March, on this time no shrike will be able to stay in the garden more then a day if he is lucky.

WOW! What a beautiful guard! Great photo too, and such fun imagining how they work at keeping the shrikes away. Must make for some great action scenes :eek!:
