The key to the problem

Recently my mother had noticed a bee coming into her sunroom and apparently disappearing behind the door. Investigating later she saw the it was climbing inside the lock. So she blocked to hole with bluetack. Next morning there was a hole in the blue tack. On taking off the door handle plate this is what we found inside.
