Endemic to the Abyssinian highlands. A very large, 60-64 cm, black corvid with a massive, white-tipped bill and a fairly small white nape patch. Is easily distinguished by its enormous bill, long tail and white head markings.
Habitat: Mountainous areas, especially 1500-3000 m; also around settlements and in cultivated areas.
Status: Common in its range; usually in pairs, but flocks gather at rubbish dumps.
