Thinking Sharp-shinned - AND I am wrong. Cooper's Hawk (Accipiter cooperii)

I'm pretty sure this is a juvenile Sharp-shinned Hawk. He has been hanging around the yard looking for doves and quail. On this day he decided to hang around for a few minutes.
So, placed in ID forum. He's a Cooper's, of course. I can't seem to get these two correct!

Beautiful image you captured Lisa :D Nicely done. The Sharp-shinned Hawk is much smaller. It's hard to correctly i.d. them. If I remember, the tail is shaped differently, between the two species.

Beautifully captured Lisa :t: Sharp-shins are smaller, think of them making sharp turns among the trees, and brush, after their prey. This fellow looks very long in length I think. I most likely would have guessed wrong as well. Trying to convince both of us. Lol :)
