Thistles Dream :-) (Carduelis carduelis)

I've uploaded too many portraits lately so here it goes something different (I like variety, you know, ;))

I sneaked up among the tall Thistles after a bunch of Goldfinches and got this pic of a sleepy-looking juvie (must have been asleep to let me come so close, :'D) a pity the scene was in backlight but still I'm very pleased with the effect of the thistles, so into my gallery it goes! o:) Hope you like it a bit!

You've got a superb habitat shot here MC and you've handled the lighting really well.

But your Spanish birds must be some really tough cookies (much harder than this 'tough northern guy' LOL! :-O ) to fall asleep on the bird equivalent of a 'bed of nails'. Ouch! :eek!:

A lovely capture my friend and you are right. The blurred thistles are a beautiful addition to this image.

a setting to die for Helwa Dulce Marian g/f, so delicate and i am sure you have noticed that it is almost monochromic image which make it another masterpiece from you.
