Thorny Linnet (Carduelis cannabina)

Another new bird for my gallery! o:) During a pleasant walk by the cliffs of my coastline, I came across this lovely male Linnet singing from a bramble patch. I couldn't get a nice pic of him singing, but posed nicely for me for a while. |=)|

The background is the sea It was a quite dull day, but I like the "greyish" composition this drab sea provided.

I like everything about this shot Marian. Excellent work and congrats on your new bird.

How do they manage with those thorns though.
 
Marian, you have triumphed once again! I have yet to take a good shot of this species. Love the composition and the diffused background. A real beauty!

Congratulations on your new addition to your gallery. Thats one bird I would love to photograph Marian. Never had much luck with the birds on my Scottish holiday, anyway I'm off to Slovenia in four weeks times I should do a lot better there. Keep up the good work. :t:
